Dr. Yasmeen Gul obtained her Doctorate in Urban Planning from University Technology Malaysia in 2018, Dr. Gul did her master’s in urban and Regional Planning and bachelor’s in architecture from NED university of Engineering and Technology Karachi, Pakistan in 2011 and 2002, respectively. Dr. Gul has ten years of experience working as Architect and Planner at Gwadar City Development Authority, Pakistan. During her stint at Gwadar Development Authority, Dr. Gul designed and executed many buildings such as Gwadar General Hospital, Gwadar Secretariate Building, Gwadar Grand Mosque, Gwadar High School, Herboi Public Park in Gwadar, GDA office buildings and many more small-scale projects. She also worked on the Master plan of Gwadar city. She is a lifetime technical committee member for planning and execution of Gwadar Smart Port City Master Plan with Chinese consultants. Dr. Gul started her academic career after her PhD in 2018 at National University of Science and Technology (NUST), Islamabad which is the No. 1 university of Pakistan and No. 334 in the world as per QS world university rankings. She also got a chance to teach at Prince Mugrin University in the Holy City of Madina for a semester and then she joined AlGhuriar University as full time Assistant Professor from 2019 till 31st August 2022. During her academic career Dr. Gul has published more than 30 high ranked journal papers and spoken at about 20 international conferences. She has obtained three research grants as well for her ongoing research projects in Dubai. Due to high ranked journal publications and interest in research Dr. Gul was selected a Research Committee member of Al Ghurair University. Dr. Gul’s research interests include sustainable development, residents’ well-being, smart cities development and smart waste management.

Dr. Gul Ahmed Johkio obtained his PhD in civil engineering from Imperial Collage London UK in 2012, He did his Master in structural Engineering and bachelor’s in civil engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology in 2002 and 1999 respectively. Dr. Jokhio has 10 years of field experience at top level management in multi million worth of projects. He also worked as Executive Engineer in Gwadar Development Authority, Baluchistan, Pakistan. During his work at Gwadar Development Authority, he was responsible for construction execution of many projects such as Gwadar General Hospital, Gwadar Secretariats Building, Gwadar Grand Mosque, Gwadar High School, Herboi public Park in Gwadar, and GDA office buildings etc. At national level his major accomplishment is his involvement in master plan of Gwadar. His contribution in ACECOMS, Asian Institute of Technology Thailand as Structural Software Engineer (2003 – 2005) is remarkable. He has 10 years of academic experience in different capacity. He served as senior lecturer at university of Malaysia Pahang where he was rewarded with Bronze & Gold medal for his impressive research work in the field of Structural Engineering. Dr. Jokhio is currently working as Associate Professor in The British University in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. During his academic career Dr. jokhio has so far published 16 journal papers & 19 conference papers. He received research grants in 2016, 2017, and 2021. Dr. Jokhio’s specialization areas are structural analysis and design, sustainable construction materials.
